Candlelighters has been chosen to be the recipient of the May 6th Cinco De Mayo run/walk race put on by Terrapin Events. It is very exciting to be chosen for this opportunity to raise funds for our families, but also raise awareness of the mission of Candlelighters. With the decrease in the economy over the last few years it is more important than ever to be so fortunate to be a part of something that will help support our mission of helping families who have or had a child diagnosed with cancer. Vera Riser, John Vogel and I participated in the annual ACSA fly-in held in Washington, DC in March. The fly-in is an annual event organized by ACSA that includes Chapter meetings, the spring ACSA meeting, a day of presentations by leaders of government, business and recreational organizations, and a day on ‘The Hill” whereby the attendees from each state meet with their elected Congressional Representatives and/or their staff. It is a hectic schedule from early morning until evening but well worth every minute. More

There are very few differences between the preferred alternative that was released to the public in the Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement on February 3, 2012 and the final planning rule. A few clarifications were made to better represent the intent of the preferred alternative. These clarifications do not substantively change the rule. More
